Neil is a regular technical contributor to Shell Projects and Technology's EP Technology magazine. In the most recent issue he contributed articles on slimhole well design and drilling (page 10); underbalanced drilling (page 14); fracturing optimisation (page 18); and uphill drilling (page 22).

However, Neil's writing also encompasses the performing arts. He is a regular contributor to Opera Now magazine and in this article he explores the state of the operatic art form on the west coast of Norway. This is his latest review for the magazine while here is one of his articles (in this case on the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland) for the Norwegian magazine Klassick for whom Neil is also a regular contributor.

Neil also recently contributed this article on Stavanger for a Norway Special issue in The Times newspaper.
